Singapore Fighting Championship back to make history

SINGAPORE, 11 June 2019 – The Singapore Fighting Championship (SFC) team is back with round seven of its smashing multi-discipline event. SFC 7 “Eight Limbs” is set to make history with not one, but two unprecedented National Muay Thai Title bouts.

For the main events, four of Singapore’s most accomplished muay thai fighters will do battle to be our first ever World Boxing Council (WBC) National Muay Thai Champions.

Independent welterweight contender Brandon Ng is just 25 years of age, and already has amassed over 50 bouts under his belt, mostly plied in some of the biggest stadiums in Thailand such as Rajadamnern and the World famous Lumpinee stadium. Featherweight contender Wynn Neo, a Temasek Poly Aerospace Engineering student who fights out of the Muse Fitness gym here in Singapore, has built a solid reputation in his young career.

Their opponents, welterweight Andre Seah and featherweight Vincent Chew represent the popular Vanda Fit gym (formerly Vanda Boxing). 27-year-old Andre Seah turned pro after compiling a respectable 16-1 amateur record and hardly backs down from fight opportunities. 24-year-old Vincent Chew is so far undefeated in his pro career and he intends to keep it that way come 29 June. Vincent has also represented Singapore at the World Muay Thai Organisation (WMO) championships in Thailand last year.

They will be joined by back-to-back WBC Asia Female Fighter of the Year and reigning WBC ASIA Super Bantamweight champion Nurshahidah “The Sniper” Roslie. The number one ranked female boxer in Asia and ranked number five in the world by WBC, is the most accomplished professional boxer in Singapore and has the opportunity to become Singapore’s first legitimate professional boxing champion.

Finishing up the pro cards is none other than one of Singapore’s best, ‘Mr Fantastique’ Muhammad Ashiq. Nine months ago, Ashiq became the first Singaporean to win the WBC International Silver Championship with a stunning signature body shot knockout following an early knockdown by his more experienced Indonesian opponent at the Lion City Fury boxing event. This time around, Ashiq will be duking it out against 40-fight veteran and former WBC Asia Champion, Yotchanchai Yakaeo.
Also on the card is undefeated Filipino boxer Rey Caitom Jr, who was Muhammad Ridhwan’s former coach not too long ago.

Hosted by funny man Kavin Jay, SFC 7 will feature amateurs and professionals in MMA, muay thai and boxing from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. It will be held on 29 June 2019 at Juggernaut Fight Club.

Tickets are $40 at Evolve, Hilltop Academy, Impact MMA, Muse Fitness Club, Vanda and Juggernaut Fight Club from now till fight night, and $45 at the door.
